Native Plant Walk (Hike) November 1, 2020

Native Plant Walk

This hike will be challenging for some depending on fitness level, yet our pace will be very slow. This will be a fun time spent in nature.

Bring lots of water, insect repellent, wear a hat, sunscreen, and a sturdy pair of shoes. ?? Bring a jacket just in case we get a shower or snow.

I recommend a bandanna as a face covering as they tend to be lightweight and breathable.

We’ll be able to keep a good distance from each other on the trail. The fresh air and sunshine will be excellent for all of us!!

Event Location: Idyllwild, California

Event Date: November 1, 2020

Native Plant Walk

I’ve been a California native plant fanatic for about a decade now, so you can imagine that when I moved up here to Idyllwild, I had a lot to learn about the local plants in this Yellow Pine Forest. OK, and mixed Woodland Forest too… I’m in the middle of both bioregions.

Whenever I can, I make a mental note of the plants along the trails, remembering my favorites.

I’ll admit, sometimes I overlook the more common plants, but they somehow seem to get my attention and remind me how beautiful they are. I’m surrounded by Manzanita, Buckwheat, Oaks and Pines. I often take them for granted until I'm reminded of their importance in the ecosystem.

Please save your spot by purchasing a ticket – I am limiting the group size to 10 people. You will receive the trail location the day before we meet.

Looking forward to sharing the trail with you. ?
